For care homes and GP practices, the logistics of prescription management consume time that clinical staff cannot spare.
CainDirect provides a personal, white-glove prescription collection and delivery service across Lincolnshire, from collecting the prescription at the GP surgery, through dispensing at the pharmacy, to delivery to the patient's door. Every job handled personally by Andrew Cain, with proof of delivery and named recipient handover as standard.
Important: CainDirect transports sealed, dispensed, non-regulated prescription items only. Controlled drugs, temperature-controlled medications, and hazardous materials are not transported.

Andrew manages the complete journey, collecting the prescription request from the patient, delivering to the GP surgery, waiting for processing, collecting from the pharmacy, and delivering dispensed medication to the patient's door.

Questions about the prescription delivery service
Is Andrew DBS checked?
Yes. Andrew holds a current Individual Basic DBS Check certificate. This is relevant for work in or near patient care settings, including care homes, GP practices, and pharmacy environments. A copy can be provided to healthcare providers on request.
What types of medication does CainDirect transport?
CainDirect transports sealed, dispensed, non-regulated prescription items, standard medications dispensed by a registered pharmacist. Controlled drugs (Schedule 2 and 3), temperature-controlled medications (including insulin and biologics), and hazardous materials are not transported.
How is delivery confirmed for prescription items?
Prescription and medication items are delivered to the named patient or an authorised representative only, not left at the door. Delivery is confirmed with a signature or photo confirmation, timestamped and recorded. The referring healthcare provider or pharmacy is notified on completion.
Can you work with care home sign-in and medication receipt procedures?
Yes. Every care home has specific procedures for receiving medication deliveries - sign-in, handover, and documentation requirements. Andrew will follow whatever procedure the home requires. For regular arrangements, these procedures are established at the initial consultation and followed consistently on every visit.
How much does the prescription delivery service cost, and does it require a courier plan?
Health Logistics is priced independently of the standard courier plan. GP practices, pharmacies, and care homes can hold an HL arrangement without being courier clients. All prescription and clinical delivery work is billed under the HL model. HL Standard: £8.00 per 15 minutes plus mileage, minimum job time charge £24.00 (3 × 15 minutes), charged at booking alongside approach mileage, with any time above the minimum and remaining mileage invoiced on completion. HL Partnership (£112.00/month minimum) and Partnership Plus (£192.00/month minimum) offer lower per-unit rates, Reserved Time Slots, and Standing Arrangements for practices and homes with regular requirements. Monthly commitment invoiced in advance, mileage and any excess time billed at month end. Contact Andrew to discuss the right arrangement.
