THE CARE HOME DELIVERY CHALLENGE

What care homes need from a prescription delivery service

Care homes operate within a regulated environment where medication management is a specific clinical and operational responsibility. Prescription delivery is not a standard logistics task, it requires consistent timing, correct handover procedures, documented confirmation, and a courier who is DBS checked and conducts themselves appropriately in a care environment.

CainDirect provides a scheduled prescription and medication delivery service built specifically around these requirements. Every delivery handled personally by Andrew Cain, DBS checked, familiar with care home procedures, and consistent in timing, documentation, and conduct at every visit.

WHY CARE HOMES AND PHARMACIES CHOOSE CAINDIRECT

The qualities that matter for care home delivery

DBS Checked

Andrew holds a current Individual Basic DBS certificate, a requirement for entry into registered care home environments. A copy can be provided on request.

Consistent and familiar

The same operator on every visit. Over time, Andrew learns the home's specific sign-in, handover, and documentation requirements, removing the friction that a rotating driver pool creates.

Documented every time

Timestamped proof of delivery on every run, who received the delivery, at what time, and against what documentation. Clear records for the home and the pharmacy.

Separate health logistics pricing

CainDirect's Health Logistics pricing model is independent of the standard courier plan structure, designed around the volume and scheduling needs of healthcare and care home clients.

COMMON QUESTIONS

What care homes and pharmacies typically ask

Is Andrew DBS checked for care home entry?

Yes. Andrew holds a current Individual Basic DBS Check certificate. This is a requirement for entry into registered care home environments and is a baseline qualification for this type of work. A copy can be provided to care homes or commissioning pharmacies on request.

Can you work with our care home's specific sign-in and medication receipt procedures?

Yes. Every care home has its own specific procedures for receiving medication deliveries, sign-in, MAR sheet documentation, or specific staff handover protocols. Andrew will follow whatever procedure the home requires. For regular arrangements, these procedures are established as part of the initial consultation and followed consistently on every visit.

Can you cover multiple care homes in a single delivery run?

Yes. Multi-home delivery runs are available and are a natural fit for pharmacies supporting several care homes in a geographic area. The run is structured efficiently, documented at each stop, and a single invoice issued covering the full session.

What is the Health Logistics pricing model for care homes?

CainDirect has a separate Health Logistics pricing model for healthcare clients including care homes and the pharmacies that supply them. This operates independently of the standard courier plan structure, with Standard, Partnership, and Partnership Plus tiers based on monthly delivery volume rather than job counts. Contact Andrew to discuss the right arrangement for your requirements.

What happens if a resident is unable to receive their medication when Andrew arrives?

If a resident cannot receive their medication, Andrew contacts the commissioning pharmacy or GP practice immediately. No medication is left unattended. The alternative arrangement, whether a return visit or a handover to an authorised care home staff member, is agreed on the day according to the home's procedures.

Can you handle urgent deliveries outside normal scheduled run times?

Yes, subject to availability. Urgent prescription requirements that fall outside a scheduled run are handled as ad-hoc Standard Health Logistics jobs. Contact Andrew directly by phone or WhatsApp for urgent requests. Calling is always the fastest route for time-sensitive healthcare requests.
